Colon Cleansing Pills

A lot of people are almost obsessed with taking pills. It seems as though they would eagerly swallow anything that’s been crammed into a capsule and there are plenty of unscrupulous dietary supplement manufacturers lurking around out there that are more than happy to sell you their low quality colon cleanse pills.

While such low-quality pills are found throughout the natural medicine industry, they are especially abundant in the area of colon cleansing. There are literally dozens of readily available brands and minor variations to choose from. Nearly all of which rely on the same basic ingredients to achieve the same the lackluster results, or worse. In fact, you might be amazed at the number of so-called “colon cleanse pills” that are made with ingredients that are known to cause diarrhea and constipation.

Colon Cleanse Pills to Watch Out For

Habitually reading product labels is a useful skill for any consumer, but it’s essential for health and nutrition enthusiasts. A quick comparison of popular herbal colon cleanse pills shows that nearly all of them list either the herbs Cascara sagrada or Senna, if not both, as their primary active ingredient.

These plants are much too harsh for the delicate lining of the small intestine and colon, and have a number of potentially serious side effects. Both of these herbs may induce severe spasm thorough the abdominal region. This can be so traumatic that it actually causes your intestines to shed their protective lining. Related side effects may also include intestinal lesions, bloody stool, and possibly even death in a handful of extreme cases. No matter how extreme these side effects may be, this is clearly not the kind of results most people are looking to get out of their colon cleanse pills.

In sharp contrast to the overly strong herbal colon cleanse options are fiber pills. These are typically filled with powdered psyllium husk, or similar materials, and really are about as effective as capsules filled with sawdust at cleansing the colon. Additionally, why spend the money on fiber pills, when you can just eat more high fiber foods?

Safe and Effective Colon Cleanse Pills

The best way to choose effective colon cleansing pills is to select one with an established track-record that’s backed by detailed third-party scientific testing. You should also make sure the product uses vegetarian capsules. Natural oxygen-based colon cleansers are an especially good option for safely and effectively removing excess waste and toxins from the small intestine and colon, and are known to have virtually no adverse side effects. And because oxygen cleansers are more complicated to manufacture than their plant-derived counterparts, they are usually much better made as well.

As with any dietary supplement or medication, it’s important to stay well hydrated and carefully follow any instructions provided by the manufacturer when taking colon cleanse pills, regardless of whether they’re herbal or oxygen-based.
